We are a group of local artists using traditional, print, and digital media who together seek inspiration, collaboration and education in a fun, non-competitive and creative atmosphere.
Objectives
- Promote inspiration and creativity in the design community.
- Create a relaxed atmosphere at meetups where designers and artists can come share ideas, tips and tutorials.
- Promote crossing of talents through collaboration. (ie. Digital artists can help traditional artists get their content online)
- Prepare aspiring artists, design/art students and recent graduates to enter the workforce. (Through introduction to local networking groups, and tailoring skills related to business)
- Promote relevant local job openings to members. (Posted at each meetup as well as on website)
- Host tutorials/presentations on design topics.
- Provide a non-competitive atmosphere that won't intimidate potential group members.
Rules
- Unlike other networking groups, there will be NO promoting or selling of professional services unless asked directly by a member. This group was purposely created to promote skills and community, without feeling like you're competing for business.
- Criticism should be kept constructive, no bashing or insulting other members. We're here to help each other.
Who Can Join?
Anyone who's an artist/designer or anyone who aspires to be one! It's as simple as coming to a meetup, joining the Facebook group, or following us on Twitter!
Are there any costs?
Membership is 100% free and always will be. You can call yourself a member of the community right now if you want! However occassionally at meetups there may be an entrance fee to cover the cost of the venue or any professional guest speakers. These costs will be clearly posted along with the event information.
